Cross-border cooperation
An important part of the work within the Equal Program takes place in coordination with other partnerships within the European Union through what is known as trans national cooperation.
Gender School operates within two trans national partnerships
”Hackers for Equality”
”Hackers for Equality”, in cooperation with Scotland and Slovenia. Together, collective structures and models will be produced for leadership and growth on the basis of gender.
Hi Hopes (Scotland)
Due to the sparse population and its geographical location, the highlands and lowlands of Scotland have difficulties in gaining access to resources such as lifelong learning and social and economic development, which in turn negatively affects the region's growth. The principal objective of the Hi Hopes project is therefore to improve opportunities for lifelong learning so that each individual in the region can achieve his/her full potential in day-to-day life and at work. Within the project, one will test new methods to overcome the aforementioned barriers with the objective of reducing discrimination and inequality in the Scottish labour market.

Equal Vesna (Slovenia)
The Vesna Partnership works with underprivileged groups such as young women who have not yet been employed, elderly unemployed women, and self-employed women. The number of unemployed women continues to rise in Slovenia, and the development process within the project is intended to find ways to integrate and support these groups. One of the goals is to increase the number of women entrepreneurs and self-employed women.

”A private matter”
in cooperation with Spain, Italy and France. The aim is to exchange experiences on how the balance between working and private life could function more effectively in the future.
IMPLANTA (Spain)
Our Spanish partner works mainly to implement new methods and models that support the balance between one's private and working life. This includes an ambition and recommendation that responsibility for the home and family shall be divided equally between men and women. The project includes a development process concerning women's part-time work, motherhood and working life, women's low salaries, and a high proportion of unemployment.
P.A.R.M.E (France)
There is a very strong need for childcare in Paris and the neighbouring areas. Access to childcare can not meet the considerable demand, which primarily affects the unemployed or low-paid immigrant women with limited finances. Women become excluded from the labour market, and they have no chance of finding work or building on their skills and competence. Through the P.A.R.M.E. project, the French partnership endeavours to help excluded women to find work or training, and to find a solution for the childcare problem.
Una questione privata (Italy)
The "Una questione privata" project points to the built-in problem that women are primarily expected to take care of the home and children. For this reason, it is difficult for women in Italy to be able to combine their private and working life, career with family, in a balanced way. The name of the project reflects the prevailing conception that this is a private problem for women. Through the partnership's development process, it is hoped that one will be able to find new ways of improving the balance between private and working life, which in turn leads to greater potential and better conditions for women. Furthermore, one would like, through the project, to improve knowledge about the conflict between private and working life not being a problem for women, but that it is a social problem. |
